NADA Requests For Customs Facilitation

A six-member delegation led by NADA Chairman Krishna Prasad Dulal held talks with the Director-General of the Customs Department Narayan Prasad Sapkota and discussed various issues including the recently issued customs directive.During the meeting, Chairman Dulal highlighted the fact about Nepal's automobile sector being the highest revenue-generating sector in the country. He also informed that a written agreement has been reached between NADA and the Customs Department on cooperating in exchanging information.Similarly, during the discussion, General Secretary Sunil Rijal said that there should be clarity in the change of HSS code and categorization of automobile items coming under the SAFTA facility. Similarly, Treasurer Surendra Upreti informed about the problems faced at the customs checkpoints even when opening an LC business.During the discussion, Director-General Sapkota said that the department would facilitate the entrepreneurs and also provide online payment and vehicle scanners for the entrepreneurs. Moreover, he added that the customs department is now preparing the profiles of the trusted traders for the convenience of the traders.NADA Co-Treasurer Vikram Singhania, Central Working Committee Member Shubha Asis Thapaliya and Association Secretary Surendra Pradhan were also present at the discussion.
